Sciacca, Italy, 2016

It is a temporary library set up inside the old Caricatore caves, an important local historical monument. The project was developed in collaboration with the cultural association Factory and some papier-mâché artisans, committed for generations to the production of the allegorical wagons of the Sciacca carnival.
The installation was carried out through the creation of a training workshop during which the participants experimented with the innovative use of Italian bamboo, integrating it with the technique of papier-mâché. One of the objectives of the workshop was to disseminate important knowledge of the local tradition, making it an opportunity for experimentation and learning. Laboo, a Sicilian cultural association engaged in the dissemination of the use of bamboo in design, also collaborated in the organization of the workshop.
