BAGGY WAVE _ ITALIA SURF EXPO 2014

Created during the days of Italy Surf Expo 2014, BAGGY WAVE is a temporary installation that has hosted the “relax area” in the water. The structure is made up of irregular bows in splitted bamboo and has been supplemented by a lighting system and shading drapes. It was completed in three days by the BAG team and 20 participants in the training workshop. This is an experiment from the technological point of view, because we wanted to test the potential of the construction system still little known, both from the point of view of the process, because the decisions were taken collectively and during the construction phase. At the end of the festival it was dismantled. It was an intense and fast architecture, caught on the fly, which gave the participants an intense collaborative experience. As for a surfer who takes the perfect wave. At that moment he enjoys and then the wave disappears.

Realizzata durante le giornate dell’Italia Surf Expo 2014, BAGGY WAVE è un’installazione temporanea che ha ospitato l’area relax in acqua. La struttura è composta da archi irregolari in bambù splittato ed è stata integrata da un sistema di illuminazione e teli ombreggianti. È stata completata in tre giorni dal team di BAG e 20 partecipanti al workshop formativo. Si tratta di un esperimento sia dal punto di vista tecnologico, perché abbiamo voluto testare le potenzialità del sistema costruttivo ancora poco conosciuto, sia dal punto di vista del porcesso, perché le decisioni sono state prese collettivamente e durante la fase realizzativa. Alla fine del festival, dopo soli 4 giorni, è stata smontata. È stata un’architettura intensa e veloce, presa al volo, che ha regalato ai partecipanti un’esperienza collaborativa intensa. Come per un surfista che prende l’onda perfetta. In quell’istante gode e poi l’onda sparisce.
